Image 1: Previous Work: Food Insecurity
This zero-waste art installation transforms a discarded lamp into a symbol of hidden hunger. From its frame, strands of repurposed beads sparkle deceptively, masking the stark reality of disfigured forks suspended beneath them. The forks, bent and unusable, represent food insecurity intensified by tariffs—tools meant for nourishment now distorted and denied. The beads, beautiful yet false, embody corporate corruption of Canadian grocery chains profiting from inflated prices on untariffed food. By weaving waste into art, I reveal how everyday objects carry stories of inequity, asking viewers to confront the fragility of access to food in a system built on profit.
